Colgate, Campbell and Kennesaw State have been KO'd.
And you can cross off Holy Cross.
Eight more teams are out of the national championship chase, bringing the number of potential national champions to a tidy 290.
Yes, that number is different than it should be if you saw last night's post. But due to some faulty math -- I was a journalism major, better with words than numbers -- we at ESPN.com have determined that the number of championship-eligible teams heading into today should have been 298, not 310.
And now we've crossed off eight more. The newest members of the dearly departed list:
From the Atlantic Sun: Kennesaw State, beaten by Belmont; Campbell, beaten by East Tennessee State.
From the Ohio Valley Conference, where there were two upsets: Tennessee State, beaten by Tennessee-Martin; Eastern Kentucky, beaten by Southeast Missouri.
From the Patriot League: Army, beaten by Bucknell; Navy, beaten by Lehigh; Colgate, beaten by American; and higher-seeded Holy Cross, beaten by Lafayette.
We'll whittle it down more Thursday night, and every night between now and the unveiling of the final 68 on Selection Sunday. Until then, for all your conference bracket needs, head on over to our Champ Week page.
