The infection stems from the Warriors' Wednesday game against the Knicks in what was Lee's first return to Madison Square Garden since leaving New York in a July sign-and-trade. Lee's elbow collided with the mouth of Knicks forward Wilson Chandler, cutting the Warrior and causing Chandler to lose a tooth.
Apparently, immediate medical attention didn't prevent bacteria from taking over. Lee's elbow was cleaned and wrapped in gauze Wednesday, but it was a bloody mess out there. Lee ended up with 28 and 10 in 40 minutes, and Golden State won.
