The Milwaukee Bucks don't have any pressing needs with Brandon Jennings expected to return this week, but that apparently hasn't stopped them from scouting the D-League for backcourt help.FanHouse has confirmed that the Bucks are expected to call up Erie BayHawks guard Garrett Temple from the NBA Development League. Temple, a versatile 6-foot-6 guard, earned three call-ups last year from the D-League as he played in 27 NBA games split between the Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and San Antonio Spurs.
ESPN's Marc Stein first reported the call-up on Twitter.
Though Temple's best asset is his defense, the versatile wing has shown that he can do whatever it takes to help his team. With the Spurs last season, that meant starting at point guard when Tony Parker went down due to injury -- a position he's rarely played in the D-League. Still Temple was able to produce by averaging 11.3 points and hitting 54 percent of his three-point attempts as a starter at the NBA level.
After beginning this season with the Spurs, Temple was released after just three games and chose to return to the D-League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers in hopes of another chance at getting to the NBA through the D-League. After a slow start in nine games with the Vipers, though, he was traded to the BayHawks for fellow NBA prospect Jeff Adrien. Though his statistics have remained relatively the same -- 14.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists -- he's began to come around as of late.
