According to museum chairman Steve Young, "We felt it was time to recognize those who have used to gift of humor to promote the enjoyment of the automobile as a creative outlet." Young would be referring to Carolla's "CarCast" a weekly automotive podcast, and the "Adam Carolla Podcast" which, at over 5 million downloads a month, is the Guinness Book of World Records' "Most Downloaded Podcast."
John Lasseter, meanwhile, oversees the creative aspect of all Disney and Pixar films. The two-time Oscar-winner made his debut with Toy Story in 1995 and is being recognized by the Petersen Museum for his work directing Cars and Cars 2.
