These past few weeks, Lexus has unveiled a few teaser images of their concept car for the Detroit Auto Show, building up the anticipation for the vehicle’s actual debut. Well, that kind of got tossed to the wayside when Road & Track revealed details on the concept - apparently called the LF-Lc - through their YouTube account.
The new LC-Lf Concept previews the future design language of Toyota’s luxury arm, bringing in elements from the LF-A supercar and the recently launched GS 350. The concept features a massively elongated hood that leads down to headlamps that plummet deep into the air intakes, and a grille taken from the LF-Gh concept.
The LF-Lc will be powered by a hybrid powertrain, but no details have been provided just yet on the car’s specifications. It is also believed that the "Lc" designation means that Lexus is planning a competitor for models like the Mercedes SL-Class.
More details about this concept will be revealed on January 9, 2012 at the Detroit Auto Show, so stay tuned!
"Crafted from a clean sheet of paper at the request of Lexus headquarters in Japan, the LF-LC blends both high technology and organic shapes to connect the driver to the machine," said Mark Templin, Lexus group vice president and general manager. "The clean lines of the vehicle emphasize motion, creating a distinctive look for this futuristic sport coupe."
Lexus LF-Lc originally appeared on topspeed.com on Wednesday, 21 December 2011 15:00 EST.
