Subaru has, like many other Japanese automakers, struggled to get its factories up and running in the wake of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. But the automaker appears to be making strides towards that goal, as Automotive News reports that the car maker will restart vehicle production Wednesday at its Gumma plant.

The facility produces the Legacy, Forester and Impreza; three vehicles that are very important to the automaker's success in the U.S. Subaru spokesperson Kenta Matsumoto told AN that the plant will run at about half of its typical run rate while the automaker assesses its parts situation. Matsumoto says Subaru has no intention of stopping production now that the plant is coming back online, but added, "The situation with every part isn't entirely clear."
