Diana Taurasi Contract Terminated Over Positive Doping Sample

Diana Taurasi's deal with Turkish club Fenerbahce has been voided after her "B" doping sample tested positive. Taurasi also faces a ban of up to two years, leaving her status for the 2012 Olympics in question.

According to the club, the decision was made Thursday following a Turkish Basketball Federation announcement regarding the positive test.

Taurasi was provisionally suspended from the Turkish league in late December after her "A" sample tested positive for modafinil, a banned stimulant that counters excessive sleepiness. She requested a backup test with a "B" sample.
