Wolves decline qualifiers for Beasley, Randolph (Yahoo! Sports)

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- For the second time in four years, Michael Beasley is on the move, hoping another team will be willing to overlook his inconsistency on the court and try to harness the considerable talent that has intrigued and frustrated so many for so long.

Video: Jaguar lets its F-Type roar

The run-up to an honest introduction to the Jaguar F-Type continues with this: footage of the 380-horsepower, supercharged convertible on the automaker's test track. Martin Brundle hosts the 'spot' and gets a ride-along with Mike Cross, chief engineer for Jaguar, but naturally, we don't get any more hard information than we already have on the car.

What we do get, though, is sound. No matter how the F-Type looks - and it looks good on the run here, even in camo - with that exhaust it won't be creeping up on anyone. Those of you attending the Goodwood Festival of Speed, this is your appetizer to the F-Type's run up the hill. Have a listen to the video below.

Report: Terrafugia flying car completes first round of test flights

terrafugia flying car at new york show

The Terrafugia Transition flying car is closer to becoming a real road-going reality. The Transition finished its first round of Federal Aviation Administration certification flight tests (there are five more rounds to go) at Plattsburgh International Airport in New York, and is headed for on-road drive testing.

It's another small step toward the flying cars we've been promised since at least the halcyon days of the "better living through technology" 1950s. The Transition was supposed to start deliveries by the end of this year at a cost under $200,000. The price has swollen to around $279,000 and while Terrafugia is happy to accept your deposit, expect at least a year or two before taking delivery. Still, if you have the money and an desire to be Elroy Jetson, it looks like you may eventually get your wish.

Video: Houston woman warns motorists of speed trap with sign, gets thrown in jail

nicole plummer holding sign

This story is irritating on so many levels. It involves a dreaded police speed trap, a good samaritan warning motorists of the potential fine and a 12-hour stint in a Texas jail cell.

Houston-area resident Natalie Plummer, who was riding her bike on the way home from the grocery store, noticed that cops were pulling over speeders with what looked like a speed trap, so she decided to turn her bag into a make-shift warning sign. That sort of action seems to be covered by the Constitution, but Plummer was still arrested for allegedly standing in the street when there was a sidewalk present. For the record, Plummer tells KRTK that she never left the sidewalk, and she claims that the arresting officer threatened her with an arrest for obstructing justice, which is a felony offense.

Scroll down to watch the ABC News report. We can see the cops being irritated with Ms. Plummer's sign-holding activity, but a 12-hour jail term seems more than a little excessive. Heck, even a fine of $1 seems a bit heavy handed, but then many feel the same way about speed traps.

Riley eager to see how champion Heat can improve (Yahoo! Sports)

Miami Heat President Pat Riley, right, acknowledges fans as vice president of basketball operations Nick Arison, left, watches at the arena in Miami, Monday, June 25, 2012. Hundred of thousands of people filled the streets of Miami for the Heat championship parade, and then 15,000 more got into the arena afterward for a long, loud reception for the NBA's new kings. MIAMI (AP) -- Pat Riley's approach to free agency has changed considerably since 2010, simply because the Miami Heat have nowhere near the same amount of money left to spend as they did during the coup that brought LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh together.

Exclusive: From Prague to Mongolia in an abused Renault Kangoo

Last Rat Renault Kangoo Mongol Rally

If you haven't heard of the Mongol Rally, we suggest you acquaint yourself. The charity event starts in Europe and ends in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Unlike most rallies, there is no defined route or support staff. Participants must simply survive long enough to make it to the finish line in one piece. That would be challenging enough in a well-equipped off roader like a Nissan Patrol or Toyota Hilux, but those who take up the challenge must do so in either a vehicle with an engine displacing no more than 1.2 liters or an emergency services vehicle like an ambulance or fire truck.

At the end of the rally, the surviving vehicles are either auctioned or donated to cash-strapped local organizations. This year, New Yorkers Ota Ulc and Nick Jarret have partnered with Prague local Karel Vancura in an attempt to trace the 10,000 miles from Prague to Mongolia in a Renault Kangoo. The "Last Rat to Mongolia" team bought their car sight-unseen and have outfitted the quirky little van for the trek with the help of a local mechanic. Skid plates, rally lights, a roof rack and a gaggle of jerry cans are all part of the plan.

A total of 300 teams will attempt the continental crossing, each supporting their own charities along the way. The Last Rats are raising funds for UNICEF and Lotus Children's Centre Charitable Trust. You can follow their progress on Facebook or at the Mongol Rally site, and can kick them a couple of bucks via the team's JustGiving site. What else are you going to use the money for? Another coffee?
