Strickland has successful knee surgery

North Carolina guard Dexter Strickland underwent successful reconstructive surgery to repair the meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee Thursday morning, the school announced. Team orthopaedist Dr. Alex Creighton performed the surgery at UNC Hospitals; the junior's recovery time has yet to be determined. Strickland -- UNC's starting shooting guard, reserve point guard and best perimeter defender -- hurt his knee when he drove to the basket in the second half at Virginia Tech on Jan.
